Welcome to Xplor Ryerson!

“New year, new me”—isn’t that how everyone starts their school year with. Something we all say to reassure that we won’t fall back into our bad habits of procrastinating and bingeing on caffeine. That’s exactly what I told myself last year and you know what changed? Nothing. Except for the fact that I got to meet some awesome upper years in GCM and FCAD, fly to Florida for a networking conference with industry professionals and create lasting memories with new friends. This was all possible due to a student group I joined, Xplor Ryerson.

The Ryerson Chapter of Xplor International is a student group that acts as a liaison between student members and industry members in the graphic arts and electronic documents industry; by facilitating networking opportunities through workshops, socials, conferences and exposure to potential workplace environments. In short; we provide you opportunities to use and learn skills through meeting new people. Regardless of your experience, we strive to make a comfortable environment where students can voice their questions, concerns and suggestions to better their interpersonal skills. We emphasize on not only building a larger network but a stronger network that will help you in the future.

As students we aren’t always taught the soft skills we need or given the exposure of different workplace environments outside of our classrooms.
